Why oh why do I not have time to read blogs anymore?
I swear I used to be all caught up on seeing how everyone else's life is going, but having "time" is a thing of the past.
Plus... Nienie has been a bit depressing lately I've had to quit reading, and I don't like when CJane has guest bloggers, so I guess I'm not missing out on too much.
But lately we've been having fun with my FMLA time (aka... no work), and since Jenny has been home we've been hanging out with her more too.
But then she decided to move back to New Jersey for a year. She left on Saturday. But here is a recap of recent events while she was here.
OGDEN MARATHON
Jenny decided to run the Ogden Marathon with a couple friends. Two weeks and 3 days before the marathon her friends bailed on her. Since they already paid for their entry (and the marathon was full), I told Judd he should run with her (totally kidding of course). The next day he asked me if I thought Jenny would be able to get him the bib from one of her friends that wasn't running. I told him probably not, but I asked her for him.
When she found out she could get a bib for him I started to panic. Mostly because my husband has had ZERO marathon training (though he does run most every day about 3 miles). Let me remind everyone that 3 miles is a bit different than 26.2 miles.
But he was determined. For the next two weeks he stepped up his running (which is against most marathon rules for two weeks prior to race). He also bought new shoes 4 days before the race (another rule breaker). In my head I knew he COULD make it, mostly because he is in great shape, but my worry was that he'd get injured during the race due to lack of training.
Anyway... long story short they both finished and did great! I was just happy to see him at the finish line. We'd been waiting there for a hour to make sure we didn't miss them. As time passed I got more and more scared that something had happened.
I think they both are checking it off their bucket list. As my husband said at the finish line "I hurt everywhere and I never want to do that again."
Now along the 2 weeks prior to the race I offered all the advice I could, but I think they only took about 10% of it. For example... eating Top Ramen for breakfast would totally make me puke on a regular day, let alone race day. But he did carb load the night before and the morning of.
Jenny and Judd had to wake up bright and early (3am)

And of course I had to include the supporters. Katie and I not only went to the expo to find them shirts in the poring rain the day before, but we sat out in the dreadful heat the day of the race waiting for them to finish.
This is my version of a double stroller. I just laid her down in the back.
Next on the list is Jenny graduating college!
The best part was going out to dinner to celebrate :)
Another day we watched Madison play softball. It was Taylie's first ball game.
Madison had a Lunch at the Playground thing for her school. We went and ate Subway sandwiches before the rain rolled in.
Kaden spent a whole week watching the construction outside my mom's house.
He would point out the window and say "holes" because they were digging holes in the road.
I'm really good at doing the laundry, but it's a whole other story trying to have it put away all the time.
Have you ever had to put your clean/unfolded laundry somewhere so that guests couldn't see it? I don't remember who was coming over but I had to put everything in our tub as to clean up the house in under 5 minutes :)
If you've never had to do something similar then you are way too busy doing laundry :)
Kaden loves calculators. He can sit and play with one for over an hour.
I really don't try to turn him into a nerd, he just loves stuff like that.
Maybe once it is actually hot outside (and not snowing in MAY), we'll get him out and into sports. Till then he's just happy with his square number machine.
It is hard to take family pictures in general. But when it comes to my family... ugh so much harder it seems. We didn't pick the best day either (rain and wind right when we went to take them). We were in and out in about a half hour (record).
We had to get them done before Jenny left.
Here's an out-take for family enjoyment
Love it:
Kaden running around
Jenny asking "is my hair ok?"
me asking "does the necklace look weird"
Judd so not even interested
My mom telling my dad to hurry so we can be done
The Girls
And of course, before Jenny left she wanted a picture with both my kids. Which is asking a whole lot as Kaden is scared to sit by his sister.
With M&Ms as bait we snapped a million, with all of them looking disastrous. This is the best we got.
And those are the things going on in my life right now :O)

I love how it was Maddie's picnic on the playground...yet where's the picture of her? :D The family picture turned out cuter than I thought it would. I think we were done in 10, not a half hour! Not worth the worry of the hair if you ask me. Love the outtake. I have a better picture of me and your kids on my camera I think!
how fun that you got some sister time! you are so beautiful!
CUTE photo of the girls!
